Ram Gupta joined VA's board in February 2002. As executive vice president of products and technology at PeopleSoft, Gupta is responsible for PeopleSoft's new generation of Internet applications and the company's technology infrastructure.

Prior to joining PeopleSoft in 2000, Gupta was senior vice president and general manager for Healtheon|WebMD Corp., an Internet healthcare company. Before that, Gupta served as director of the multimedia networking group at Silicon Graphics; managed operating systems development at IBM; and managed networking products development at Ungermann Bass and at Philips in Europe.
